Thank you and Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and Thank you for a wonderful Year!

Reflecting on the year

The end of the year is approaching and I want to take a moment to reflect on the year. It has been a wonderful year in my business. It has been a privilege to capture so many of your special moments and I feel so fortunate to have been a part of your journeys. I never underestimate how I can’t do the job I love without you!

This year has seen the introduction of Maternity Photo Shoots in my Whitchurch studio. It has been a true joy to capture the radiant beauty of mums-to-be as they eagerly await the arrival of their little ones. Each session is filled with love and anticipation. I feel incredibly fortunate to have photographed so many precious newborns. Each one is a miracle in their own right. Additionally, I’ve had the pleasure of creating cherished memories through Sitter Sessions, Cake Smashes and heartfelt Family Sessions and of course, the Christmas Spirit shines through with Christmas Photo Shoots. Oh! and not lets forget the “awkward” best friends session back in September. Every moment spent behind the lens has been a reminder of how precious life and family are.

Personally, it has also been a good year. Hubby and I both turned 40. I conquered my fear of travelling abroad in May, going on our first Cruise and in July we went to our first family festival. It has been a busy and fast year.

Thinking of those who are no longer with us

With another year ending it is another reminder of those who are no longer with us.  Another Christmas without my dad, who we lost in 2021. Not a day goes by without me thinking of him or remembering something he once said. I believe it’s true when they say somebody never really leaves you. They live forever in your heart. I feel dads presence daily. My lovely Aunty passed away a few weeks ago. My heart breaks knowing my cousin now feels the same pain I feel for my Dad. I miss her and wish I had told her that!

Reach out for help if you need it

If you are struggling with the loss of a loved one. Please know you are not alone in your journey. If you need to reach out for some support, Cruse is recommended by medical professionals https://www.cruse.org.uk/. You may have heard me say this before but grief is the price we pay for love. If we hadn’t loved our person, we wouldn’t be grieving and how lucky are we to of loved and known our person!

If you are struggling this Christmas, about anything. Please reach out to friends or family. If that’s not an option, the Samaritans can help. https://www.samaritans.org/how-we-can-help/contact-samaritan/talk-us-phone/ Remember, you are loved and you are needed.

Thank you for your ongoing support

Thank you to everyone who has been to a Photo Shoot with me this year. I have enjoyed every session! and thank you if you have liked and shared my social media posts or tagged me in looking for photographer posts. Your support allows other people to know I am here.

Looking ahead to a New Year

Looking ahead to 2025, I am filled with hope for a good year. Personally, we are looking forward to another cruise. although, I still think the plane will explode and if that doesn’t happen we will be attacked by pirates or we will be drowned by a tsunami. But what’s changed is, I’m not letting those fears hold me back anymore!

Professionally, I am looking forward to photographing and meeting new families, catching up with families I’ve met before and updating their family portraits. Entering more competitions and maybe even applying for my craftsman qualification.

That’s it for me until next year

My New Year’s Resolution was to blog once a week throughout 2024. This is the last blog of the year and blog number 49. I’d say that’s not bad going! My hope is that you have found the content useful and at times entertaining. My aim for 2025 is to blog twice a month. You can view all my blogs here

Christmas and New Year in my household will be a quiet one with no expectations, no hosting or family commitments. I hope however you spend your Christmas and New Years Eve that it’s filled with happiness. Remember – take those photos and exist in those photos!

Merry Christmas and Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Lisa 😊
