Do Parents Join in During a Newborn Photoshoot? Yes! And I really encourage you to.

When you’re booking your newborn photoshoot, you might be thinking about all those gorgeous photographs of your tiny new arrival. But what about photographs of you together?

I know that after having a baby, getting in front of the camera might be the last thing you feel like doing. You’re tired, you’re adjusting to life with your new little one, and you might not feel quite like yourself just yet.

But these are some of my favourite photographs to take during a newborn session, and they’re often the ones that become even more precious as the years go by.

You don’t need to know how to pose

Please don’t worry about knowing what to do in front of the camera!

I’ll guide you through everything, whether that’s holding your little one close, giving them a kiss or simply looking down at that gorgeous little face.

Nothing complicated, nothing uncomfortable. Just you and your baby enjoying a cuddle while I capture those lovely little moments.

Photographs of your whole family

I always encourage both parents to join in, and if your baby has older brothers or sisters, they’re welcome too.

Your newborn session isn’t just about capturing how tiny your baby is. It’s also about capturing your family as it is right now.

Imagine your little one looking back at these photographs in 10 or 20 years and seeing just how much they were loved from the very beginning.

Your newborn session in Whitchurch, Hampshire

My newborn sessions take place in my cosy Garden studio in Whitchurch, Hampshire. Welcoming families from Andover, Basingstoke, Newbury and surrounding areas.

There’s always plenty of time for feeding, changing and settling your baby, so there’s no need to worry if your little one needs a break.

And yes, photographs with Mum, Dad and siblings are included in your session!
