Easter Holidays: A glowing review of the past 2 weeks
School holidays can go one of two ways: magical memory-making OR total emotional carnage involving snacks, bickering and someone crying in the bathroom (usually me). But I’m thrilled to report that this Easter, we’ve managed to mostly stay on the magical side. I know. I’m as shocked as you are.
New Forest Magic
This year, we discovered a little gem of a campsite in the New Forest — Riverside Lakes and it’s been a total win, especially for the kids. It’s got a small onsite farm (they had lambs! Instant joy!), and loads of open space, so the girls could zoom off on their bikes across the fields while we watched from the van with a cuppa in hand.
It’s peaceful, but not so remote that we felt stranded — shops are just a short drive away, and even better, it’s only 4 miles from one of our favourite places: Moors Valley Country Park. So, it would have been rude not to spend a few hours there whilst we were that way 😊

Legoland – And Yes, We Did 12 Rides
Thanks to some vouchers (love a bargain), we made a trip to Legoland— we used the money we saved to get queue jumpers. Game. Changer. We managed to squeeze in 12 rides, which is basically unheard of during school holidays! Not only that but Grace won a cuddly toy!

A Beach Day Bonus
The weather actually decided to be kind, and I for one was so ready for it! so we grabbed a few hours at the beach too. Despite it being a pebble beach, Isla was shoeless, leggings rolled up and ran into the sea as she screamed and quickly ran out. But ran straight back in again, screaming much to our amusement.

Ended it all with a trip to The Minecraft Movie!
Thanks to sky having 2 free tickets we managed to go and see the Minecraft Movie, having never played Minecraft myself I was sceptical especially after seeing all the drama from the kids at the cinema on news reports and reels BUT, I love Jack Black, he has been a bit of a celebrity crush of mine since I was in my 20s! So off we went and seeing Jack Black ride on the back of Jason Mamoa was nothing short of a treat for my eyes!
So, How Was Your Easter Break?
Did you escape somewhere lovely, or keep it cosy at home? Any new favourite spots we should add to our list for next time?
Pop into the comments or come say hi over on Instagram — I love hearing what other families got up to, especially if there are hidden gems or must-visit places I can add to our next adventure!
And if you managed to survive the break with only minor meltdowns too… high five. We’ve earned our chocolate eggs.
