Welcoming a new baby into the world is always special, but some sessions stay with you, and little Ariel’s newborn session was one of those.

At just two weeks old, Ariel was an absolute dream to photograph. One of the calmest babies I’ve ever had in the studio. She slept so peacefully throughout her session, allowing me to create the most beautiful, timeless images for her family to treasure.

A Calm & Relaxed First Experience

My studio is just a short 20-minute drive from Central Basingstoke, making the journey as calm as the photoshoot itself.

As first-time parents, many families feel a little nervous before their newborn photoshoot but Ariel’s mum and dad were so calm and trusting, which made such a difference. It allowed the session to flow naturally, creating a peaceful environment for Ariel to stay settled and sleepy.

This is something I always aim for in my studio. A space where parents can truly relax while I gently guide the session.

Soft Pink Styling with a Timeless Twist

For Ariel’s session, mum chose soft pink tones, which suited her beautifully. I paired this with delicate textures and added a neutral setup as a little “wild card”—something I often include to give parents a bit of variety in their gallery.

From cosy wraps to carefully styled sets, everything is provided here in the studio, so parents don’t need to bring a thing unless you want to include something special in the photographs.

A Special Recommendation

This session was made even more meaningful as Ariel’s family came to me through a recommendation from one of my lovely returning clients.

I regularly photograph her family. Especially their annual Christmas sessions with their four children, so it’s incredibly special when clients trust me enough to recommend me to friends and family.

Capturing Those Early Days

Newborns change so quickly and it never stops amazing me just how fast those tiny details disappear.

At just two weeks old, Ariel was at the perfect stage for those curled-up, sleepy poses but in what feels like no time at all, she’ll be back in the studio for her sitter session, full of personality and sitting up independently.

I already can’t wait to welcome this beautiful family back.
