Ever wondered why Maternity Photography matters? Pregnancy is many things: Magical, emotional, exhausting, and unforgettable. No matter what kind of journey you’re on, you deserve to capture it and cherish it.
During both of my pregnancies, I suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum — a condition that left me sick up to 30 times a day. I barely managed a few phone selfies and couldn’t even consider a professional maternity photo shoot.
Now, I look back and realise how much I missed out on. I wish I had those images; not just of what I looked like, but to celebrate who I was and who I was becoming.
Why Maternity Photography Matters, because Pregnancy Changes everything
Whether your pregnancy has been smooth or full of challenges, your body is doing something extraordinary.
Pregnancy changes everything. Physically, emotionally, and mentally. Your uterus expands up to 500 times its normal size. Your organs move to make space. Your blood volume increases by half. And your heart works harder every single day.
Your body is doing incredible things. It deserves to be seen, celebrated, and remembered.
Maternity Photography Is for You
People often assume maternity photography is just about vanity — a way of saying, “Hey, look at me.” But it’s so much deeper than that. It’s a bold, unapologetic declaration that this moment matters.
It’s about claiming your space and saying:
“I feel beautiful, right now, exactly as I am.”
“I want to remember this body — not just for what it looks like, but for everything it’s done.”
“This is the strongest, most powerful I have ever felt.”
For too long, women have been made to feel like celebrating our bodies — especially during pregnancy — is somehow self-indulgent. But here’s the truth: there is nothing more sacred, more raw, or more awe-inspiring than growing life.
Maternity photography is not about showing off. It’s about honouring transformation. It’s about preserving a chapter that deserves to be remembered.

Preparing for Your Shoot
Whether you’re 30 weeks or nearly due, there’s no “perfect” time for a maternity shoot — just the right time for you. Here are a few tips:
Book between 30–36 weeks if you can — but listen to your body.
Wear what feels good. Soft, flowing fabrics are lovely. Bring your own outfits or wear some of my dresses.
Bring someone along. A partner or friend can help you feel more relaxed.
Take breaks as needed. We move at your pace, always.
Enjoy the moment. This is more than a shoot — it’s time to reflect, reconnect, and celebrate
Real Stories, Real Confidence
Recently, I photographed a mum-to-be at 32 weeks. She arrived feeling unsure and a bit self-conscious. But by the end of the session, she was glowing with confidence. She told me:
“I didn’t think I’d feel this good.”
That’s the power of being seen — not just for how you look, but for what you’re living through.
Let’s Celebrate Your Journey
You are growing life. That’s not ordinary — it’s extraordinary. And whether you’re glowing or just trying to get through the day, you are worthy of beautiful, meaningful portraits.
