Are you pregnant and wondering what must have items you should buy for your baby? As a Newborn Photographer in Whitchurch Hampshire, I see a lot of baby items coming into the studio. Being pregnant is an exciting time, but it can also be a little overwhelming. There are so many things to buy and so many options to choose from. So I asked Mums what their must have baby items are and I have listed them below to try and help you out.
Must have item you should buy number 1 – Next to me crib
These cribs are a fabulous alternative to Moses Baskets. They are great for night time feeding and last until the baby is 6-8 months old. You can even use them as a travel cot if you go away. One of the best things about these cribs is that you can easily soothe your baby by laying next to them and holding hands or rubbing their back without having to take them out of the crib and disturbing them or waking them further.
A Tommee Tippee UV Steriliser
I can remember when my Grace was born crying over sterilising bottles. I felt like I was in a cycle of feeding and sterilising all day. Then we found a cold water steriliser and it was a game changer for me but the bottles always needed rinsing and drying before using. Fast forward 11 years and Tommee Tippee has come to the rescue. Not only does it sterilise 4 large bottles at a time, but it dries them too! The reviews on these are encouraging and I’ve just had a google and you can get one for under £100.
Doona Car Seat
I’ve had a few clients come to me with one of these car seats. It’s perfect for quick trips to the shop, visiting friends, or attending a baby group. The Doona Car Seat has a 5-star safety rating, so you can rest easy knowing your little one is secure. And the best part, the car seat comes with wheels attached, which is a huge plus when you’re trying to juggle a baby and the nappy bag and maybe even a toddler. It’s important to note that its recommended babies shouldn’t be in their car seats for more than 2 hours without a break.
Nuby Rapid Cool
I was really impressed by this product. No longer do you have to stand in the bathroom in the middle of the night, holding a bottle under a cold tap to cool it down! This item can cool baby formula to a drinkable temperature in just 2 minutes! It has been designed with the NHS Formula Preparation Guidelines in mind, and it can be purchased for under £50. I wish they had made something like this 11 years ago!
Baby Carrier & Sling – The Final Must have item you should buy for your baby as suggested by my Social Media Followers.
Babywearing has become more popular lately. It has been documented that babywearing during the first few months can reduce crying by almost half And it’ll keep your baby’s heart rate and body temperature stable, which will keep them happy and comfy too. Definitely an item to consider.
